Water Meter Upgrades Coming Soon

The District is upgrading your water meter “end points” from drive-by radio technology to cellular enabled equipment. The new end points will send water data safely over mobile phone networks, allowing residents and staff to see daily updates of water usage through a secure online portal.
The Board of Directors approved this project in July 2026. Since the existing water meters are equipped with the ability to register potential issues, only the end point will need to be replaced. Once they are all installed, the District will be able to launch a new app that will allow residents to view their water usage as often as you like as well as set alerts for sudden, excessive water consumption caused by a major leak or minor leaks that result in continuous water use for more than 24 hours. This will also allow the District to identify issues sooner so the problem can be corrected quickly.
Our water meters are currently read with radio drive-by technology, so our employees must drive around the entire town to collect readings once a month, which takes about two days. If a customer suspects something isn't working correctly or there is a leak, our employees can go directly to the home and take a reading and then attempt to troubleshoot the issue with the resident. Otherwise, we do not currently have a way to be notified about leaks other than when we collect the reading each month.
The installation of the new equipment will begin in October and we anticipate launching the new app in early 2027. Even without the app, once the new technology is installed on your meter, our staff will be able to monitor water data and receive notifications about any anomalies with your water service. It will be a great efficiency tool for both residents and staff. We look forward to providing you with more information as the project progresses.
